OBJECTIVE
To be the official online portal for all information and services for Limerick, and to promote and enhance the image Limerick as an attractive destination for visitors, investors, businesses, students and residents.
CHALLENGE
Design a responsive website that is easy for Limerick City & County Council to adapt and maintain, and engaging for their wide ranging audiences to use and find the information they need.
SOLUTION
Learn how users think about the current website and their issues with it, use those insights to create a new user-focused site with the things that truly matter to Limerick.ie users.
INSIGHT
Navigation of the site was a major issue for users, with some users stating they found it “too complex and overwhelming”, reporting difficulty finding information that they needed.
SOLUTION
Three main audience areas were identified in our research, these are highlighted to the user as they arrived on the homepage. Once the section is chosen, the user is brought to relevant, targeted content with Natural Language Forms to engage and assist with finding information.
INSIGHT
Placement and labeling of some sections / pages within the website were causing some confusion with users when tested.
SOLUTION
Architecture and navigation tweaks with more informative labeling in the identified areas.

SOLUTION
Separate visual languages were established for each section, including colour palettes, image / illustration styles and use of language. While each remained distinct, with design commonalities, they also communicate that they are connected under the one brand, building trust and brand recognition.
